Writes Pranay P. (L6th)

Last week, the Taylors’ scratch golf team delivered an outstanding performance at the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) National Final 2026, held at the prestigious Brocket Hall. Competing against the very best school teams in the country, the Taylor’s squad secured an impressive third-place finish, marking a significant achievement for both the players and the school.

Having qualified for the second consecutive year, the team, including Antoni H. (U6th), Pranay P. (L6th) and Nick C. (L6th), arrived with renewed determination following a mid-table finish in 2025.

The Palmerston Course at Brocket Hall was presented in immaculate condition, but the challenge was intensified by tough weather conditions on the second day.

Despite a steady start that saw Â鶹ŮÀÉ’ positioned tied fourth after day one, the team surged forward on the final day. Excellent rounds from Antoni H. and Nick C. propelled Taylors into first place for much of the second day, putting them firmly in contention for the national title.

However, in the closing stages, strong finishes from Reeds School and Culford School saw both teams post exceptional scores, narrowly pushing Â鶹ŮÀÉ’ into third place overall.

Even so, finishing third nationally represents a remarkable accomplishment – a huge well done to the boys!

The team now looks ahead with optimism, aiming to build on this success and go even further next year.

A special mention goes to Antoni H. (U6th) for winning the Individual event, finishing -4 for his two rounds. This comes off the back of winning the Scottish Boys Open at Cruden Bay a couple of weeks ago. His contribution to school golf has been outstanding. His dedication and performances have been instrumental in the team’s success over the last seven years at the school. The school wishes him every success as he embarks on his next chapter at college in the United States and for Polish golf.
