Writes Katy Younge, Assistant Head of Upper School

Upper Sixth Leavers’ Day at Â鶹ŮÀÉ’ School was a fitting and memorable send-off for a remarkable cohort. The day began with a series of thoughtful and humorous speeches, as the Headmaster and Mr Herring shared words of wisdom, reflection, and encouragement. These were followed by heartfelt contributions from Head Monitors Jai and Brayden, who captured the spirit of the year group with warmth and authenticity.

A highlight of the morning was the leavers’ film, expertly created and edited by Yuvraj. It was an interesting combination of humour and nostalgia, where moments both silly and sincere shot over the course of the pupils’ time at Â鶹ŮÀÉ prompted plenty of laughter and depicted fond friendships that have been formed over the years.

Afterwards, the celebrations moved down to the lake, where pupils enjoyed burgers, signed each other’s shirts, and took the opportunity for final conversations and goodbyes with teachers, who turned up to wish them well. The day concluded with a whole-school photograph before pupils were free to say their farewells. For many, this marked the end of a seven-year journey, nostalgically revisited in the Year 7 photos displayed earlier in the day.

Mr Herring, Ms Isham and Ms Younge extend their very best wishes to the entire year group. It has been a pleasure to work with such a fine group of young men over the past two years, and we wish them every success in their upcoming exams and all their future endeavours.
