Fourth Form French Exchange in Paris

On Friday 24th May, a group of Fourth Form students left for Paris on the French Exchange. Find out more about their exciting excursion into French life.

After a tube journey to King鈥檚 Cross Station, we went through security and got ready to board the Eurostar train! The journey was incredibly efficient, and everybody enjoyed traveling with their friends.

When we arrived at Gare De Nord in Paris, we were all excited to meet our exchanges鈥 families for the first time. Some boys had even been invited to a birthday party on the first night, and everybody was looking forward to exploring Paris over the next week. Over the weekend, we got to know our Exchange families and visited some of the sights of Paris, such as the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre.

On Monday, we joined our Exchanges to experience a normal school day in France. We were surprised to find out how long the students at L鈥櫭塩ole Alsacienne had to eat lunch 鈥 some students had a two whole hours! Over the next week, we enjoyed various visits around Paris. We visited a fascinating museum of the French army and saw historic sites such as the Arc de Triomphe. Everybody had fun on a boat tour down the River Seine 鈥 even though it was raining 鈥 and at times we were right next to the famous Eiffel Tower. We also had fun playing an 鈥淓scape Game鈥 in beautiful Montmartre and visited shops on the iconic Champs-Elysees. On the last day, nobody wanted to go home.

We departed on the Eurostar with a wealth of knowledge of the French Language and life-long memories of Paris. Thank you to the wonderful French Department for making it all possible!
